Privacy Policy

Short version: Your audio and lyrics are never stored. We collect your email to deliver your critique. We don’t sell your data. You can request deletion at any time.
1. Who We Are
TuneGauge™ is an AI-powered song critique service operated by Laser Images. For privacy-related questions, contact us at support@tunegauge.com.
2. What We Collect
We collect only what we need to deliver the service:
- Email address — required to deliver your critique report. With your opt-in consent, used for occasional product updates.
- Audio files — uploaded for analysis. Streamed to our AI provider in real-time, then permanently deleted from our servers. Never stored.
- Lyrics — submitted alongside your upload for analysis. Processed in real-time, then permanently deleted. Never stored.
- Song title and artist name — retained as part of your critique record for results page display and your records.
- Critique results — the written critique text and TuneGauge™ Rating are retained to power your results page and enable sharing.
- Payment information — processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your card details. See Stripe’s privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.
- Usage data — standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for security and performance monitoring. Retained for up to 30 days.
3. How We Use Your Data
- To generate and deliver your critique report
- To send your results link and receipt (paid tiers) to your email
- To display your results page at your unique shareable URL
- To send product updates if you opted in (you can unsubscribe at any time)
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and spam
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
4. What Is and Isn’t Stored
- ✓ Stored: email address, song title, artist name, critique text, TuneGauge™ Rating, submission timestamp
- ✕ Never stored: your audio file, your lyrics, your payment card details
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party providers to operate the service:
- OpenAI — AI analysis of your audio and lyrics. Audio and lyrics data is transmitted to OpenAI solely for the purpose of generating your critique. Our third-party API integration has data sharing disabled by default — your audio is not used to train AI models. See openai.com/privacy.
- Stripe — Payment processing. Stripe handles all card data under PCI DSS compliance. See stripe.com/privacy.
- Cloudflare — Content delivery and DDoS protection. See cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
6. Cookies
TuneGauge uses only essential functional cookies (session authentication for the admin panel). We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies. No cookie consent banner is required because we do not set non-essential cookies.
7. GDPR & Your Rights (EEA / UK)
If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA) or UK, you have the following rights under GDPR:
- Right to access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Right to erasure — request deletion of your personal data and critique records
- Right to rectification — request correction of inaccurate data
- Right to object — object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Right to withdraw consent — unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time via the unsubscribe link in any email
- Right to data portability — request your data in a portable format
To exercise any of these rights, email support@tunegauge.com. We will respond within 30 days.
Our legal basis for processing: contract performance (to deliver your critique), legitimate interests (fraud prevention, security), and consent (email marketing opt-in).
8. Data Deletion
To request deletion of your data (email address, critique records, results page), contact support@tunegauge.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request." We will complete your request within 30 days. Audio files and lyrics are automatically deleted immediately after processing and are never retained.
You can also unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email we send.
9. Data Retention
- Audio files and lyrics: deleted immediately after analysis (never stored)
- Critique results and email: retained indefinitely to power your results page, unless you request deletion
- Server logs: retained for up to 30 days
- Payment records: retained as required by law (typically 7 years)
10. Data Security
We use industry-standard security practices including HTTPS/TLS encryption for all data in transit, encrypted storage, and access controls. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.
11. Children’s Privacy
TuneGauge is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be noted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of TuneGauge after changes constitutes acceptance.
